Remembering Michael Hartnett with Paddy Bushe and Sean Ó Coistealbha

Paddy Bushe is a poet, editor and translator in English and Irish. On A Turning Wing (Dedalus 2016) won the 2017 Irish Times Poetry Now Award. A collection in Irish, Móinéar an Chroí, was published in 2018. Two collections, one in English and a dual-language selection of his poems in Irish, will be published by Dedalus in 2020. He is a member of Aosdána, and is the Artistic Director of the recently established Amergin Solstice Poetry Gathering.

Seán Ó Coistealbha has been Chief Executive Officer of Muintearas from 1996. He has spent thirty-two years working with Muintearas, where he started working as Youth Manager in 1985. He has considerable experience in community development, education and the Irish language. He has published two poetry books, Stadhan in 2012 and Dídean in 2002. He has been closely involved in Irish language theatre since 1980, taking many parts in plays with the Taibhdhearc and Aisteoirí an Spidéil.

Seán is closely associated with Diaspora projects. He has done much for Irish speakers in the New England states in America and in the Maritime provinces of Canada. He spent a period as Chairperson of Comhlacht Forbartha an Spidéil, as a director of Taibhdhearc na Gaillimhe, and he is at present a member of Galway LCDC and a Board member of Foras na Gaeilge. He is married to the artist Lisa Olsthoorn. They have a family of five: Zara, Johannas, Maela, Dualta and Fiach. He lives in An Pháirc in An Spidéal.

Tá dhá leabhar filíochta foilsithe aige, Stadhan in 2012 agus Dídean in 2002. Tá dlúthbhaint aige le cúrsaí drámaíochta na Gaeilge ó 1980 agus páirteanna go leor glactha aige i ndrámaí leis anTaibhdhearc agus Aisteoirí an Spidéil.

Tá dlúthbhaint ag Seán le tograí Diaspóra agus cuid mhaith déanta aige do lucht na Gaeilge i stáit Nua-Shasana i Meiriceá agus i gcúigí Muirí Cheanada. Chaith sé tréimhse mar Chathaoirleach ar Chomhlacht Forbartha an Spidéil, ina Stiúrthóir ar Thaibhdhearc na Gaillimhe, agus tá sé faoi láthair mar chomhalta ar Bhord Forbartha Pobal Áitiúil na Gaillimhe. Tá sé pósta leis an ealaíontóir Lisa Olsthoorn agus tá cúigear clainne acu: Zara, Johannas, Maela, Dualta agus Fiach. Maireann sé ar an bPáirc sa Spidéal
