Poetry, Story and Song: Away and Here

Catherine Bateson, Jane Williams and Eileen P Keane Introduced by Robyn Rowland

Jane Williams has six books of poetry, most recently Days like these: New and Selected Poems 1998-2013 and has worked in collaboration with animators, sculptors, painters and photographers. She was born in England in 1964 to an Irish father and Australian mother. She lives in Tasmania. She has a Masters in Creative Writing from Canberra University.

Catherine Bateson is an award-winning poet and writer for children and young adults. She has three poetry collections published, most recently, Marriage for Beginners. She has three verse novels for young adults published with University of Queensland Press. Her poetry has been widely anthologised and individual poems have won awards. For over a decade she ran La Mama Poetica, Melbourne’s longest running spoken word venue.

Eileen P Keane is a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter from North Connemara. Her CD Spaces was released in 2014 and she has performed throughout Ireland. She has an MA in Writing with distinction from NUIG, and writes poetry, memoir and creative non-fiction. She was a featured reader at Cuirt International Literary Festival 2017 and has been published in: The Dublin Review, The Fish Anthology, Skylight 47, and The Galway Review. She presents a monthly books program on Connemara Community Radio.
