Marty Moncrieff, The Teddy Bear Thief by Oisín Robbins

September 18 @ 12:00 pm

Featuring music, elements of puppetry and an energetic ensemble of actors, Beluga Theatre Company has been performingin venues around the country with their original production; Marty Moncrieff, the Teddy Bear Thief. The show is part of the Clifden Arts Festival and is suitable for all audiences from 4+.

The show is about a teddy called Marty who is a world infamous thief, snatching everything from fast cars and gold bars
to cookie jars. But there is a new sheriff in town, hot on Marty’s fluffy heels. Will Marty change his ways?

This is a playful, theatrical, and ultimately heart-warming tale in a world where Toy Story meets Father Ted.

The show’s writer and director, Oisín Robbins, has been working creatively with young people and children since 2014. After encouraging experiences with Barretstown, Barnstorm Theatre, Branar Theatre and Baboro Children’s Festival, he decided to set up Beluga Theatre earlier in 2019. Marty Moncrieff, The Teddy Bear Thief is Beluga’s first full production and it had its premiere in May at the Galway Theatre Festival.
