Interface, Recess by Alannah Robbins

Launch of three related titles that were edited and compiled by Alannah Robins and designed and published by Artisan House and by Interface.
Interface is a studio and residency programme founded by Alannah Robins and located in an old salmon hatchery in the Inagh Valley, Connemara. A member of ResArtis, Interface is curated with an emphasis on intersections between science and art. It fits best the description of what ResArtis describes as micro-residencies; small scale, artist-run and independent, with a high level of support for artists and taking special care of human relationships. The first artists arrived in March 2017.
From dream to dream: where science meets art is a compilation of thirteen essays by artists who have spent time at Interface. It reflects on how science informs their artistic practice; Hatchery, the story of the former hatchery, its history, current use and visions for the future; and Sehnsucht, a concertina art-piece, the work of Alannah Robins.
