Dublin-born Miriam Roycroft studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, winning the Muriel Taylor Cello Competition in London upon graduation. Further studies included a period in Banff, Canada, with Aldo Parisot. Miriam has performed as a soloist with the RTÉ NSO and has played many of the major concerti for cello with orchestras throughout the UK and Ireland. She has been a guest leader of the cello sections of the RTÉ CO, RTÉ NSO, BBC NOW, the BBC SSO, and the Northern Sinfonia. Miriam was Head of Strings at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin from 2012 until 2015. Her solo, chamber, orchestral and educational commitments now take her worldwide. Miriam is Principal Cello of Camerata Ireland, with whom she has toured extensively.
Since winning first prize at the Tomassoni International Piano Competition, Cologne, in 2001, Lance Coburn has established himself as a charismatic performer with an exceptional facility. He has performed with many major Australian orchestras, including the Sydney Symphony, and international symphony orchestras including the RTÉ NSO and WDR RundfunkkorchesterKöln. Lance graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music with the school’s highest honours. He furthered his studies in the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire and the Royal Irish Academy of Music. His numerous first prizes include the inaugural Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition and the Australian Young Performers’ Award. Lance’s regularly plays with Irelands’ leading chamber musicians and has performed in festivals including the Beethoven International Festival in Bonn and The Dublin International Piano Festival.
